This second promotional effort focuses on an entirely different set of shows set to premiere in the coming months – which means we get our actual (albeit very brief) footage from the new series of both Call the Midwife and Last Tango in Halifax, as well as first looks at several new dramas, including Death Comes to Pemberley, The 7:39, Common and Truckers.
Watch for yourselves below – and get ready to get excited!
A quick run-down on the shows featured in the trailer:
Call the Midwife will be back with a Christmas special later this year and a third series in 2014. (Yes, it will return to PBS stations nationwide in the Spring.)
The second series of BAFTA-winning Last Tango in Halifax will reunite stars Sir Derek Jacobi and Anne Reid as Alan and Cecila, though it’s unclear when exactly that will air.
Matthew Rhys, The Bletchley Circle’s Anna Maxwell Martin, Matthew Goode and Doctor Who’s Jenna Coleman all star in Pride and Prejudice sequel Death Comes to Pemberley, which is expected to bow in the UK around Christmas, and air on Masterpiece here in the States in 2014.
Truckers is a new drama that follows the lives of truck drivers working for a haulage yard in Nottingham, and will star DCI Banks’ Stephen Tompkinson, Ashley Walters, Harry Treadaway and John Dagleish.
Two-part drama The 7:39 stars David Morrissey, Sheridan Smith and Olivia Colman in a new romance from David Nicholls, author of tear-jerking novel One Day.
Common is a crime thriller from Jimmy McGovern starring Daniel Mays and Jodhi May.
They all look pretty awesome, don’t you think? Are you particularly excited for any of these programs?
