Watch the PBS Preview for 'Endeavour' Season 6
The sixth season of popular Inspector Morse prequel Endeavour begins on Masterpiece on Sunday, June 16.
To celebrate, PBS has dropped a new trailer for Season 6, featuring star Shaun Evans and his rather dreadful new facial hair. (Evans himself is apparently a fan of this look but I think we can all agree that he is wildly mistaken about its appeal.)
As the new season begins, things will pick up in 1969, following the dissolution of the Oxford City Police and its subsequent merger with the Thames Valley Constabulary.
As a result, Morse and his compatriots will find themselves in a much larger professional pond when the new episodes begin.
The official synopsis explains the new set-up thusly:
The show’s sixth season is set in 1969 and picks up following the dissolution of Oxford City Police, and the merging with Thames Valley Constabulary, with the team dispersed as they find their feet in their various new roles. However, despite their separation, the tragic murder of DC George Fancy still hangs over them both collectively and individually, with the case remaining unresolved. Thursday must adjust to working with new boss DI Ronnie Box (Simon Harrison) and junior DS Alan Jago (Richard Riddell). Meanwhile, Joan has settled back in Oxford and is training to work in social services under the mentor of new manager Viv Wall (Alison Newman).

Season 6 will be comprised of four feature-length episodes, a slight step down from Season 5’s six installments. They’ll be called “Pylon,” “Apollo,” “Confection” and “Degüello.”
However, on the plus side, the show has already been renewed for a seventh outing, so there’s still plenty more Endeavour to come in the future.
Are you looking forward to more Endeavour?
