'Noughts and Crosses' Has Been Renewed for Season 2
It's official: Noughts + Crosses, the BBC adaptation of author Majorie Blackman's award-winning YA series of the same name, will return for a second season.
Given that it's been a year since the futuristic contemporary drama aired in the U.K. and six months since its U.S. streaming debut, many (most?) of us had likely written the series off for good. After all, the first season ended in a place that felt like it could serve as a series finale, if necessary. But 2021 is apparently a time for television miracles, and Noughts + Crosses will indeed be back for Season 2.
The alternate history series imagines a world in which a version of Africa invaded and colonized Europe and race relations across the globe are wildly different as a result. Its story revolves around the star-crossed romance between Sephy Hadley, daughter of a prominent politician and a member of the Black ruling class known as the "Crosses," and Callum McGregor, a member of the white underclass known as "Noughts".
