'The Fall's' Jamie Dornan to Star in 'The Tourist' for HBO Max
Actor Jamie Dornan has signed on to play a lead role in the upcoming HBO Max thriller The Tourist. The six-episode series comes from Two Brothers Pictures, the production company behind the hit series Fleabag.
The Tourist follows the story of a British man who finds himself in the glowing red heart of the Australian outback, being pursued by a vast tanker truck that's trying to drive him off the road. An epic cat-and-mouse chase unfolds, and the man later wakes in the hospital, hurt, but somehow alive. Except he has no idea who he is. With merciless figures from his past pursuing him, The Man’s search for answers propels him through the vast and unforgiving outback.
Now, I know I can't be the only person who read this description and immediately thought this series must be the spiritual cousin to 1971 Steven Spielberg film Duel, can I? (That was a formative film for me as a child, inasmuch as tractor-trailers still make me feel vaguely uneasy while driving to this day.
