The conclusion to Acorn TV's Dalgliesh finds Adam Dalgliesh coming to terms with his grief by saving a child and solving a mystery where a family's twisted plots obscure the truth.

After its promising start, Acorn TV's Dalgliesh continues with the two-parter The Black Tower. The tropes so skilfully used in last week's Shroud for a Nightingale don't work quite so well here, but the mystery's worth the watch for terrific performances by Steven Macintosh as a weird, obsessive mystic and Bertie Carvel's continually excellent turn as Adam Dalgliesh.

Human beings do matter and every human being has a right to justice––P.D. James' enigmatic, complex poet detective is back in a formidable new adaptation of Dalgliesh on Acorn TV.

The new Dalgliesh remake starring Bertie Carvel premieres on Acorn TV with weekly episodes starting November 1.
