'Professor T' Season 3 Wraps Filming as Season 2 Prepares to Air on PBS
Professor T already had multiple foreign language versions available when Walter Presents chose it as part of the first set of English language remakes for the newly minted Eagle Eye Drama. The original Belgian series ran three seasons from 2015-2018, starring Koen De Bouw as Jasper Teerlinck, aka Professor T. The German one starring
Matthias Matschke as the slightly renamed Jasper Thalheim, ran four seasons from 2016-2020. The French version, which shortened the title to Prof T., with Mathieu Bisson, only ran one season in 2018. The English one, with Ben Miller in the starring role, has reached the three-season mark with little sign of stopping.
PBS recently revealed that Professor T Season 2 would be part of the upcoming September lineup, holding down the 8 p.m. spot ahead of the double Masterpiece debuts of Unforgotten Season 5 and Van der Valk Season 3. But with Professor T Season 3 having wrapped filming in the U.K., it seems like the series is heading towards becoming a regular staple here in the states, at least for the next couple of years.
Ben Miller marked the end of filming with a post on Twitter. (No, I will not call it X, and neither should anyone else.) Hilariously, the photo is a very sort of Professor Jasper Tempest-type image, with newly washed white gloves draped on a hanger and marked with a postie to ensure they wind up in the correct location.
And that's a wrap on series 3 of Professor T...đ#ProfessorT pic.twitter.com/3yUWkPAdyu
