Period Drama ‘Jamestown’ Will Return for a Third Season
Good news for those of you who love period drama Jamestown! The series will indeed be back for a third season, and likely sooner than you might think.
U.K. network Sky One announced the commission of Season 3 immediately following the airing of the series’ second run in the U.K. back in early 2018. (After all, it would have been kind of a cruel cliffhanger to leave it all on, yeah?)
What a series finale that was! We can't end it there though!

The official synopsis promises a new season filled with just as much drama as the first two.
With trade booming and the tobacco farms established, the settlers’ pioneering aspiration soon clashes with reality as they begin to strive for more than new lives – now they crave control and power.
The flourishing community creates new tensions between the English and the Pamunkey, and with politics rife in the air, the idealism of the New World is tested. As Yeardley’s thirst for power grows, can he handle the consequences? And how far will Opechancanough go to protect his native land?
Season 3 will once again be written by Bill Gallagher, who penned the first two installments of the period drama.
Additionally, Shameless’ Ben Batt is joining the cast as a new character: The enigmatic trader Willmus Crabtree. We don’t have any details yet on who his character is or which other Jamestown regulars he might interact with, but the news of a new face in the colony is still pretty intriguing.
Ben Batt heads to colonial Virginia as he joins the cast of Sky original production #Jamestown for a third series, coming soon to @SkyOne and @NOWTV. Find out more https://t.co/RGLSjzmZyb pic.twitter.com/nuaeIfdJ0b

Filming on Season 3 took place in the summer and fall of 2018, which means that a U.K. broadcast date sometime this spring seems likely.
What does all this mean for when we might see new episodes on WETA Passport? Not sure, but hopefully the show’s popularity here in America means that the gap between airdates will keep lessening, as it did for Season 2. Fingers crossed, at any rate.
