Get Your First Look at ‘Call the Midwife’ Series 3: BBC Trailer Released
After the dramatic events of the 2013 Christmas episode, Series 3 finds everyone’s favorite midwives in 1959 on the eve of the Swinging Sixties, and facing big changes on all fronts.
Following the closure of Nonnatus House, the nuns and midwives finally move into their new premises. The building is not the only new addition to their lives, as Sister Winifred (Victoria Yeates) arrives from the Mother House.
Meanwhile, the midwives themselves are also facing their own challenges. Nurse Jenny Lee is falling more and more in love, Chummy can’t adjust to not being a midwife anymore, Shelagh (the former Sister Bernadette) wants a baby of her own and Trixie embraces the changing times by trying out a fabulous new hairdo. Among other things, of course.

Midwife’s third season will be comprised of eight new episodes, which is awesome. Stars Jessica Raine, Helen George, Pam Ferris and Miranda Hart are all back and, as you probably spotted in the trailer, Eastenders actress Lacey Turner is set to guest star this season.
Call the Midwife Series 3 will air in the UK starting January 19, and will screen in the States on PBS stations nationwide beginning March 30.
