FX Sets Premiere of 'Welcome to Wrexham' Season 3 & Steven Knight's 'The Veil'
While FX and Hulu technically are considered different entities under the Disney umbrella of entertainment brands, FX’s lack of stand-alone streaming service means audiences tend to mentally mix the two together. Disney’s own choice to pair them at the Television Critics Association winter press tour probably doesn’t help either, as it meant the news about both dropped at once. However, while Hulu does have some British shows of its own (like Extraordinary), the bulk of new U.K.-based show premieres concerned FX, including a new season of Welcome to Wrexham and The Veil.
Extraordinary Season 2 will debut on March 6, 2024, with all eight episodes, an announcement that came out before the TCA panels. Hulu also confirmed We Were The Lucky Ones, an eight-episode globe-trotting World War II period piece based on Georgia Hunter’s New York Times bestselling novel starring American actors Joey King and Logan Lerman, and British actors Henry-Lloyd Hughes, Amit Rahav, and Sam Woolf, was confirmed for March 28, 2024, with a three-episode debut followed by one a week.
However, the more significant announcements were from FX, with the surprise announcement that Welcome to Wrexham would debut Season 3 on April 18, 2024. The new season didn’t include how many episodes it would be, only that it would debut with a single episode and run one a week. The new season boasts that “with the team taking their place in the EFL, Welcome to Wrexham’s cameras will have unprecedented access on the pitch, bringing viewers inside the locker room and alongside the players, while the action is unfolding in some of the biggest matches Wrexham AFC has ever played.”
