Steven Knight's A Thousand Blows is a stylish series about the rough and tumble streets of London’s East End in the 1880s. Mixing boxing, a gang of female thieves, and immigration stories, the result is a remarkably entertaining first season.
While it’s a bummer to have Rogue Heroes, a solid, well-acted, expensive-looking BBC One series, relegated to an obscure platform, Season 2 builds on its raffish, high-octane strengths and successfully adds more emotional heft.
