Prime Video has released the Season 2 trailer for its time-bending psychological thriller The Devil’s Hour. If our first look at the series’ new footage is anything to go by, audiences should prepare themselves for even more thrilling twists and surprises. The series stars Jessica Raine (Baptiste) as Lucy Chambers, a single mother who experiences strange dreams and visions about a life that isn’t hers. Peter Capaldi (Criminal Record) plays the mysterious Gideon, a criminal who can “remember” the future. He uses his foreknowledge to manipulate reality, working to save those he believes died too soon and changing the world around him in the process. The time-bending story that follows spans multiple realities, with various characters recalling moments of lives they never lived and relationships they never experienced.

“Season 2 answers lingering questions from season one, offering a thrilling experience filled with hidden Easter eggs. The audience becomes the detective, piecing together a jigsaw puzzle which you have to keep watching,” Raine said during the Prime Video Presents: Trailblazers event. “If you really concentrate, you are rewarded, and the reward is truly satisfying - like completing a 2000-piece jigsaw puzzle.”

The Devil’s Hour also stars Nikesh Patel (Starstruck) as police detective Ravi Dhillon, who has a past-life connection to Lucy; Phil Dunster (Ted Lasso) as Lucy’s estranged husband, Mike; and Meera Syal (Mrs. Sidhu Investigates) as child psychologist Ruby Bennett, who has been treating Lucy’s son Isaac (Benjamin Chivers), a young boy with the ability to travel between timelines.

Here's the Season 2 synopsis.

Season 2 sees Lucy and Gideon forming an uneasy alliance in order to prevent a recurring tragedy and hunt down an elusive monster. Lucy’s double life sees her torn between family and duty as she finds herself in the crosshairs of her past-life husband, DI Ravi Dhillon. Assisting Dhillon in his investigation is DS Sam Boyd who was mentored by DI Lucy Chambers in a previous life.

Meanwhile, Isaac is discovering new emotions every day and struggling to keep his balance in a reality that rejects his existence. Fresh mysteries unfold as our stories converge on one explosive moment that will change the fate of our characters for the rest of their ever-recurring lives.

Returning cast members for Season 2 include Benjamin Chivers (Napoleon), Alex Ferns (Andor), Barbara Marten (My Lady Jane), Thomas Dominique (Halo), and Rhiannon Harper-Rafferty (Doctors). Saffron Hocking (Top Boy) joins the series ensemble as Sam Boyd, a detective sergeant who once worked for Lucy in a previous timeline where she herself was a police officer. (This show is complicated, is what I'm saying.)

All five episodes of The Devil's Hour Season 2 are written by series creator Tom Moran, with Johnny Allan and Shaun James Grant directing. Hartswood Films (Sherlock) produced the series, with Moran, Sue Vertue, and Steven Moffat serving as executive producers. Lawrence Till (Douglas Is Cancelled) is the series producer.

The Devil's Hour Season 2 will premiere globally on Prime Video, with all episodes dropping on Friday, October 18, 2024. Prime Video has confirmed that a third season of the drama has already been filmed, though there is no word yet on when we might expect to see it on our screen.
