The First Full Series of Endeavour: Coming in 2013

Excellent news for mystery fans – you can now get your first official look at the upcoming full series of Inspector Morse prequel Endeavour. Shaun Evans is back as a young Endeavour Morse, who is now just a new constable cutting his teeth on solving crimes in Oxford in 1965.

Endeavour premiered as a one-off film last year and was given the greenlight for a full series before it even reached our TV screens here in America (Which is always a relief!). This time around, young Morse will be back for four feature-length episodes, dealing with a variety of cases and hopefully featuring many more of those lovely in-episode nods to longtime fans that popped up all over the film.

The fabulous Roger Allam is back as Morse’s senior partner Inspector Fred Thursday, and Abigail Thaw, daughter of original Morse John Thaw, will once again make a few guest appearances over the course of these episodes.

ITV has just released the very first trailer for the new Endeavour series and it’s well worth taking a look at below. It looks really good – like its mystery series enough to hold its own, but with enough Morse references to make longtime fans happy. Everyone wins!

Endeavour is currently slated to air on ITV this spring, and it should show up on US televisions at some point this summer, as part of the new season of Masterpiece Mystery. More information to come when the new schedule is released! For now, why not just go watch the trailer again and tell us what you think of it?

Are you looking forward to seeing a full series of Endeavour
