Watch James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe in 'Victor Frankenstein' Trailer

The trailer for upcoming film Victor Frankenstein features several things that are awesome – including James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe as the titular mad scientist and his loyal sidekick, a pretty terrifying monster (even if you only see it for like three seconds), and the most amazing hair cinematic hair accessory you’ve seen in years.

Plus, it also just looks like an interesting twist on the Frankenstein story. (But, seriously! This wig!)

‘Harry Potter’ Star Daniel Radcliffe Returning to Broadway in ‘The Cripple of Inishmaan’

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is headed back to the Great White Way this Spring! He’ll be starring in a Broadway version of Martin McDonagh’s dark comedy The Cripple of Inishmaan, reprising his role from last year’s West End production at the Noel Coward Theatre. The entire London cast from that Michael Grandage-directed revival will also transfer to Broadway along with Radcliffe.

McDonagh’s play is set in the 1930s and the story centers on the inhabitants of a small Irish island stirred up by the news that a Hollywood movie is filming nearby. Radcliffe portrays the titular cripple, who want to be in the film more than anything, if only to escape the tedium of his daily life. This will be, incidentally, the first ever Broadway production of Inishmaan.

'Downton Abbey' Star' Jessica Brown Findlay Joins Daniel Radcliffe in ‘Frankenstein’

Life after Downton Abbey continues picking up speed for star Jessica Brown Findlay. The former Lady Sybil has recently signed on to star in 20th Century Fox’s upcoming film adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.

Fox’s version of the Frankenstein story – and there are several in development around Hollywood at the moment, because apparently Frankenstein fever is a thing now – will tell the tale through the eyes of the doctor’s assistant, Igor. (Who is, of course, not in Shelley’s novel at all, but we’ll let that slide because the premise is interesting, in a Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead kind of way.)

X-Men: First Class’ James McAvoy is set to play Victor Frankenstein, while Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe – who continues to do everything he can to take roles that are not like Harry Potter – will play Igor. Reports have Findlay playing a character called Lorelai, a circus performer who becomes close with Igor.

Oh, and Sherlock’s Paul McGuigan will be directing the film, so you know the movie will at the very least look incredible. Want more details on Findlay's post-Downton plans? Read on.

Daniel Radcliffe: From Harry Potter to Allen Ginsberg in 'Kill Your Darlings'

Since most of us pretty much watched Daniel Radcliffe grow up in front of us thanks to the Harry Potter films, it’s occasionally a bit disconcerting to see him taking on a role that’s so clearly not Harry Potter. (I realize this is unfair. I cannot help it despite myself.)

And yet, Radcliffe seems to finally be making his first definitive strides away from Potter typecasting with his latest role: He plays poet Allen Ginsberg in upcoming biopic Kill Your Darlings and, well. It looks as though his performance – and this movie in general – might surprise everyone.

It is 1944 in New York City, and a murder draws together the great poets of the beat generation. Radcliffe plays a young Ginsberg during his years at Columbia, and the film is based on a real-life murder mystery. Interested? Read on.
