Acorn TV is still wild about Harry. The streamer has confirmed that its popular crime drama Harry Wild has been officially renewed for a fifth season. The show, which stars acting legend Jane Seymour (Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman) as the titular retired English professor turned amateur sleuth, is one of Acorn TV’s flagship properties and has helped the niche streamer redefine its image as a destination for cozy mystery series featuring well-known actors looking for a reboot into a different phase of their careers.

(Mark your calendars: Stephen Moyer’s Art Detectives premieres in June!)

Seymour plays Harriet “Harry” Wild, a retired English professor who solves a variety of literature-themed crimes in Ireland with some help from Fergus, an intelligent and troubled teen she took under her wing after he tried to mug her back in the show’s first episode. The unlikely pair now helm Wild/Reid Detective Agency, tackling offbeat cases that run the gamut from the dark and gritty to the occasionally ridiculous.

The renewal news was announced during a panel conversation with Seymour at this year’s ATX Television Festival in Austin, Texas. “I am honored to have the opportunity to continue to bring Harry Wild to life for another season and am excited for her to solve a new batch of layered mysteries deeply rooted in literature with my castmates,” Seymour said in a statement. “It has been so rewarding to work with everyone on this production, and I’m thrilled to embark on another season with my Acorn TV family.”

Here's the Season 5 logline.

In season five of Harry Wild, Harry is back with her most sensational and thrilling ride yet, including murder mysteries in the world of whiskey-making, theatre, and musical tattoos, not to mention a gang of middle-aged lady burglars and a murder close to home.

A consistent performer on the platform, the current season of Harry Wild ranks among Acorn TV’s Top 10 most-watched seasons of all time, with viewership up by double digits from the prior season.

Though the press release announcing the renewal only mentions Seymour’s return for Season 5, it’s impossible to imagine the show continuing without Rohan Nedd (Whitstable Pearl), whose Fergus is such a key relationship in Harry’s life. The Season 4 ensemble includes Kevin Ryan (Guilt) as Charlie Wild, Rose O’Neill (Sherlock & Daughter) as Sister Lola, Paul Tylak (Kin) as Glenn Talbot, and Samantha Mumba (Loftus Hall) as Fergus’ mother, Paula Kenny.

Season 5 is written by series creator David Logan, along with writer Jo Spain. Logan, Spain, and Seymour are also executive producers, alongside Daniel March, Klaus Zimmermann, James Gibb, David McLoughlin, Catherine Mackin, and Bea Tammer. Frank Seyberth and Claus Wunn executive produce for ZDF.

The Harry Wild Season 4 finale will air on Monday, June 2, 2025, with the show’s first-ever holiday-themed episode to follow in December 2025. Season 5 is expected to premiere in 2026.
