'Such Brave Girls' Season 2 Trailer Boldly Goes Where It Shouldn't

Kat Sadler as Josie and Lizzie Davidson as Billie in 'Such Brave Girls' Season 2
BBC/Various Artists Limited
The sudden success of sisters Kat Sadler and Lizzie Davidson with their startling comedy, Such Brave Girls, cannot be overstated. Neither had much of a career before the series — Sadler's most prominent credit was as a freelance comedy writer for hire on Mel Giedroyc: Unforgivable, and Davidson had never landed an on-screen role, period. But BBC Three took a chance on Sadler's pitch for a series drawn from her own mental health struggles and her sister's money problems, and the result was a critical darling and one of 2025's most anticipated comedy arrivals this July.
Speaking to the BBC about the show's second season, Sadler admitted that she staved off "sophomore slump" but going twice as hard as she did in Season 1. (And Season 1 does not lack for going hard.) "We’re back and we’re so much worse," she said. "I’ve enjoyed torturing all the characters again this year. Smaller brains and bigger egos."
Asked about co-starring with her real-life sister, Sadler admitted there were similarities to their off-screen relationship, "in terms of the fact that our relationship is based on feeding each other’s delusions as much as possible." As for Davidson, she claims, "My life consists of sitting and waiting for a genius draft from Kat, and annoyingly, she never disappoints."
Unsurprisingly, neither does the Season 2 trailer. Check it out.
Here is the Season 2 synopsis:
The series follows Josie, her sister Billie, and their mother Deb, as they risk everything they’ve had for a single scrap of love and adoration. Still desperately trying to escape the reality of their cramped, crumbling, debt-ridden home, it’s a good thing Dev and Seb are coming to the rescue.
Such Brave Girls explores love in all its ugly chaos as Josie, Billie, and Deb continue their impossible quest for a better life. But mainly for someone to tell them they’re fit.
The series brings back Sadler as Josie, Davidson as her sister Billie, and Louise Brealey (Sherlock) as their mother, Deb. Season 2 has also confirmed it will bring back Paul Bazely (Miss Scarlet) as Deb's boyfriend (whom she can barely stand), Dev, and Freddie Meredith (Big Boys) as Josie's overly clingy boyfriend, Seb. No word on the return of Jude Mack (Prime Target) as Josie's actual love interest, Sid.
Sadler will once again pen all episodes, and director Simon Bird helms all six installments of the second season. Catherine Gosling Fuller once again produces. Sadler executive produced with Jack Bayles and Phil Clarke in association with A24.
Such Brave Girls Season 2 debuts on BBC Three on Thursday, July 3, and follows on Hulu with all episodes on Monday, July 7, 2025.
