Watch the Queen’s Guards Play the ‘Game of Thrones’ Theme Song at Buckingham Palace
We know this because during a recent Changing of the Guards ceremony at Buckingham Palace, the band suddenly burst into a rousing rendition of the HBO series’ incredibly recognizable theme tune. (For those that don’t know the band traditionally performs a song during the ceremony, which takes place daily in the summer at 11:30am.)
It’s awesome.
And thankfully a quick bystander recorded it and put it on YouTube.
For all you other Game of Thrones fans out there, I know there are about a million jokes you want to make right now about Queensguards and Kingsguards and Elizabeth, the Second of Her Name, Queen of the Andals and the First Men.
Trust me, I am right there with you.
This isn’t the first indication we’ve had that Her Majesty the Queen is quite the Westeros enthusiast. She and the Duke of Edinburgh visited the Game of Thrones set in Belfast a few weeks ago – but apparently didn’t sit on the Iron Throne. (Bummer!)
