Wallace & Gromit: Vengence Most Fowl finally has a release date in the U.S., and it's only going to be a short wait for fans between the film's premiere in the U.K. and debuting across the rest of the world. As you may recall, back in August 2024, the BBC confirmed that the new Wallace & Gromit feature-length adventure would debut on the BBC as a Christmas release, the centerpiece of BBC's holiday programming alongside long-running yearly "Festive Specials" from Doctor Who, Call the Midwife, and Strictly. However, Netflix merely stated the film would debut outside of the U.K. "this winter," a sideways way of admitting that the deal with the BBC was not for Netflix to debut the film "day and date."

However, it was unclear how long the BBC and BBC iPlayer exclusivity window was; it could be as short as The Great British Baking Show's 60-hour delay or as long as 120 days. Thankfully, Americans will not have to wait months to see the latest invention coming out of Wallace's shop, however much Gromit might wish it were. Instead, the delay is only ten days from one side of the pond to the other; Vengeance Most Fowl will debut on the BBC on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, and Netflix on Friday, January 3, 2025.

While not the ideal spot (I think everyone would have preferred 60 hours, debuting the film on Saturday, December 27), at least it comes on a Friday, so viewers will have all of New Year's Weekend to settle in and meet Wallace's new Smart Gnome, Norbot, and discover what happens when evil penguins return to serve cold dishes of eggy revenge.

Here’s the film’s synopsis:

Aardman returns with a brand new epic adventure, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl. In this next installment, Gromit’s concern that Wallace is becoming too dependent on his inventions proves justified, when Wallace invents a “smart” gnome that seems to develop a mind of its own. When it emerges that a vengeful figure from the past might be masterminding things, it falls to Gromit to battle sinister forces and save his master… or Wallace may never be able to invent again!

As previously announced, the voice cast will also feature Ben Whitehead as Wallace, taking over the role from the late beloved original voice actor Peter Sallis, plus the return of Peter Kay as PC Albert Mackintosh. New voices joining the film include Reece Shearsmith (Saltburn), Diane Morgan (Afterlife), Adjoa Andoh (Bridgerton), Lenny Henry (Three Little Birds), Lauren Patel (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie), and Muzz Khan (Galavant).

Creator Nick Park once again wrote the story with longtime collaborator Mark Burton (who turned it into a screenplay). Park also directed along with Aardman’s creative director, Merlin Crossingham, and Richard Beek produced. Park and Burton executive produced the film with Sarah Cox, Peter Lord, and Carla Shelley.

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl will debut on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Christmas Day and Friday, January 3, 2025, on Netflix everywhere else.
