'The Lazarus Project' Premiere Date Rescheduled for June on TNT

Cable network TNT has officially announced the U.S. premiere date for its latest British acquisition, a sci-fi drama called The Lazarus Project. If you're experiencing a bit of deja vu after reading that sentence ---don't worry. You have, in fact, heard it before. The buzzy action thriller was originally slated to bow back in January and was promoted as such right up until about a week before its scheduled debut date. Then, the network unceremoniously scrapped its entire winter line-up, announcing that its series premieres — including Lazarus Project, The Cube, and the third season of Miracle Workers — were all being pushed to some undetermined point later in the year. The reason? Vague network buzzwords about scheduling priorities, which all seemed to boil down to aftershocks from the Warner Bros/Discovery merger.

But at least the bizarre tale has a happy ending. TNT has finally announced a rescheduled date for The Lazarus Project, which will officially arrive on our screens this June. The series, which aired in the U.K. last summer, stars Paapa Essiedu (The Capture) as George, the latest recruit to the titular organization that is able to turn back time when the fate of the world is threatened. But when a freak accident occurs, George finds himself reliving the day his wife dies over and over,  faced with the question of what he's willing to sacrifice — or betray — for the chance to undo it.
