'Sister Boniface Mysteries' Season 4 Will Premiere on BritBox This August

Everyone's favorite crime-solving nun is headed back to our screens just in time to close out summer. The highly anticipated fourth season of Sister Boniface Mysteries is officially set to premiere on BritBox this August, an announcement that will likely come as a relief to fans who've been waiting (im)patiently for news of their favorite Vespa-riding nun since the series' Christmas special aired at the end of last year (which focused on the annual Great Slaughter holiday panto and if you haven't seen it, please fix your life immediately).

The popular 1960s-set detective dramedy follows the adventures of Lorna Watson's eponymous Sister Boniface, a character who got her start on the long-running series Father Brown. She's a Vespa-riding Catholic nun who uses her fully stocked crime lab and love of detective fiction to moonlight as a forensic scientist in her spare time. (Because as anyone who watches any sort of British procedural already knows, in this genre, literally anyone can become a competent and succesful crime solver.)

Season 4 will once again be comprised of eight episodes. We've reached the mid-1960s at this point and our favorite nun's new adventures will encompass everything from a bucking bronco that goes haywire on the set of a game show to a killer scarecrow that stalks the streets of Great Slaughter, and CC Lowsley's (Robert Dawes) decision to engage group team-building exercises with the local police force.
