'My Life Is Murder' to Stream on PBS Passport
If March winds bring April showers, apparently, for PBS Passport, they also bring Acorns. Earlier this year, we reported that the original Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries would be streaming on PBS Passport for the first time starting April 1, 2024, with all of Season 1 arriving on the first of the month, with Season 2 to follow in May and then Season 3 in June. But that's not the only series that's been held behind the Acorn TV paywall for the past few years that will be making its PBS Passport debut come April 2024. The Lucy Lawless starrer My Life Is Murder, which recently released Season 4 in its native New Zealand, will also debut starting in April.
My Life is Murder is an Australian-New Zealand co-production that has a little bit of everything. It's a murder mystery of the week series, but it also has plenty of comedy moments and some family drama. The series started on New Zealand's Network 10 in Season 1 before switching to TVNZ 1 in the second season. Acorn TV picked up the show almost immediately upon its announcement since the popularity of Miss Fisher's popularity was its primary bread and butter at that moment. With Lucy Lawless' cult popularity in the states, it seemed a no-brainer.
Lawless stars in the series as private investigator Alexa Crowe, who left her job as a detective in Australia's Victoria Police Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) to be closer to her family in New Zealand. Her initial plan is to bake bread in her kitchen for the local cafe, but soon enough, she's solving crimes again.
