It’s Official: Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Announce the Second Royal Baby Due in April
Let the Second Royal Baby Frenzy commence!
An official announcement on the Prince of Wales’s website has confirmed this happy news – and can we just take a second to admire rather elegant yet completely stark aesthetic that His Royal Highness’s official site has going on – in what may be the world’s shortest press release.
It reads, in part:
Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in April 2015.
The Duchess of Cambridge continues to be affected by Hyperemisis Gravidarum, but her condition is steadily improving.
No, seriously, the second “notes to editors” section which lists several of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s upcoming social and ceremonial appearances is actually twice the size of the baby announcement. Hmmm, is this trademark British stoicism or just the natural lack of hysteria that accompanies the arrival of a second royal child? (I’m inclined to suspect the former given the brevity of the announcement of Prince George’s due date.)
Oh, but they do promise that further details will be “released in due course”. You can read the full press release here.
The official Clarence House twitter account also shared the news earlier today (October 20):
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their baby in April 2015. Read the announcement on TRH's website: http://t.co/w4SXHDasDC

Oh, and by the way, yes, it’s true: the British Monarchy is on Twitter. You can follow the official account here, and Clarence House, which covers the Prince of Wales as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, here.
Do you think the second Royal Baby will be a boy or a girl?
