Mammoth Screen/Masterpiece

It took three seasons and the addition of a well-known HBO star, but the undermarketed, critically adored series Industry finally broke out in the U.S. after existing for two seasons as. massive smash hit in the U.K. and completely under the radar over here. Set in the world of high finance, the series exists in the same category as Succession, in that it's an insider's look at those who exist within one of the most powerful, well, industries, of our time, and the backbiting and betrayals it takes to get ahead.

Season 1 began with a group of young bankers trying to survive the pressure cooker environment and the endless sex and drug-fueled blitz that comes with being around those with more money than sense. Initially set at the international bank Pierpoint & Co’s London office, the series followed four interns and their mentor as the newbies navigate the classism and bigotry that stands between them and grabbing the brass ring. However, four seasons in, these interns have grown up. They're getting job offers and moving to other companies, as they rise through the ranks of middle management.

As the focus has widened, so has the ensemble, with new additions arriving every season and a few long time characters departing as their storylines complete. (Or in some cases, due to scheduling conflicts as their careers blossom.)

Hulu

There's no official synopsis for Season 4; however, the series creators, Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, have said the plan is to take inspiration from Tony Gilroy’s masterpiece of corporate heist espionage, Michael Clayton, which they referred to as "the greatest corporate thriller of all time."

Season 4 leads who have been in every season thus far are now down to Marisa Abela (Back to Black), Myha'la (Black Mirror), and Ken Leung (Star Wars), as Harry Lawtey (Mr. Burton) has followed David Jonsson (Murder is Easy) out of the financial series to more significant roles. Also confirmed to be returning for Season 4: Sagar Radia (The Good Karma Hospital), Miriam Petche (The Worst Witch), and Kit Harington (Game of Thrones).

Season 4 will also add several new faces, many of which fans will recognize from other high-profile projects. PBS heads will know Jack Farthing (Poldark), who will play Harry Muck's pal, Edward Smith. With Harington's Muck now a series regular, the new outside executive bringing drama will be played by Max Minghella (The Handmaid's Tale), who stars as Whitney Halberstram, described as “the CFO and Founder of Tender, a payment processor entering a growth phase.” Toheeb Jimoh (Ted Lasso), Amy James-Kelly (Three Families), and American child star turned adult actor Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men) round out the ensemble additions.

Down and Kay will serve as the writing/directing team for Season 4 and executive produce alongside Jane Tranter, Kate Crowther, and Ryan Rasmussen for Bad Wolf and Rebecca Ferguson for BBC. Kathleen McCaffrey of Little Gems will join as executive producer for the new season.

Industry Season 4 will commence filming in March 2025, and is expected sometime in the 2025-2026 TV season.
