The Investigation Is “Juggling Snakes” in the Fourth Episode of 'I, Jack Wright'
“Every time we put our focus on one suspect, another lead would take us down another path. It was a jumble of snakes. ”That’s how DCI Hector Morgan (Harry Lloyd) sums up his investigation into the death of Jack Wright in the show’s fourth episode. And he’s not wrong. We are past the midway point, but there are still many, many suspects, and who looks the most guilty changes from one minute to the next.
But here’s what we do know: Jack Wright had so much money. Jack Wright was also not a kind man. He blatantly cheated on his first wife. His older children resent him. We also know his death was made to look like a suicide, but it was murder.
Jack changed his will just months before his death. Everyone claims they didn’t know he had dramatically altered his will, but that is proven to be categorically untrue. He didn’t leave anything to his third wife and their son Josh. Jack also gave just a token amount to his two oldest sons. To add insult to injury, the new will kicks his son John out of his leadership role in his company. Instead, it said he wanted his granddaughter Emily to be in charge. John and his brother Gray are contesting the will, both the money they were not left and the executive position that was taken from John.
