HBO Debuts New Looks at Forthcoming British Series

If HBO is airing and streaming the finale of a high-profile show, that almost certainly means the network plans to drop a "coming soon" trailer just before the "Last time on" sequence rolls. As it was foretold, so it shall be, as said trailer full of new footage arrived along with Colin Farrell's almost utterly unrecognizable turn in The Penguin coming to a tragic end. (For the characters! The show itself is fine if you're into Batman-Does-The-Sopranos.) Included in the package were multiple series fans of British and British-adjacent shows are waiting for, from The Gilded Age Season 3 to Future OBE Bella Ramsey starring in The Last of Us' second (and most likely final) season.

However, we should not jump straight to 2025, and 2024 still has another eight weeks left (give or take). HBO has two major debuts for anglophiles still left for the current year, kicking off with Dune: Prophecy, which, like Game of Thrones before it, is a who's-who of British talent doing political intrigue in spectacular costumes. November also brings Get Millie Black, a show most assumed would never make it to air, which stars Tamara Lawrance (Time) as a London Met officer assigned to help solve a murder in Jamaica.

But of course, the biggest titles are the ones that arrive after the new year, including yet-another-Westeros-series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and The White Lotus, which in previous seasons has featured A-list Brits such as Tom Hollander and Theo James, and up and comers like Leo Woodall and Will Sharpe. Season 3 will feature Jason Isaacs, Aimee Lou Wood, New Zealand's Morgana O'Reilly, and The Gilded Age's Carrie Coon.
