The 'Downton Abbey' Movie Has an Official Release Date

Start planning your theater trips now, folks – the Downton Abbey movie has an official release date!

The film, which will bring back almost every major cast member from the franchise’s mega popular television run, hits theaters on September 20, 2019. (Note that this is the in North American release date. Those lucky ducks overseas will get to see it a week earlier, on September 13.)

So, it’ll pretty much be out exactly when a lot of smart people thought it probably would be, but it’s nice to have that information officially confirmed. (Though I’ll admit I was kind of banking on a Christmas release. Holidays with the Crawleys is a thing I enjoy.) And there’s something about having an official release date that we can put in our day planners and cover in glitter and stickers or whatever happens to float your particular life planning needs that makes it feel all the more real.
