Season 2 of the deliciously bonkers political thriller COBRA won't make its way to PBS until a still-to-be-announced later date in 2022, but PBS Passport members can get an early look at the series' highly anticipated return right now.

All eight episodes of the second season are currently available to stream on PBS Passport, an early gift to members who have been waiting for over a year to see whatever new madness will befall Prime Minister Robert Sutherland (Robert Carlyle) and his beleaguered British government.

The first season of COBRA aired in late 2020 and followed the global and political fallout from a devastating solar storm that caused everything from power outages to mass protests. Its fast pace and surprisingly addictive plot helped garner strong viewing numbers on both sides of the pond and, honestly, the whole thing was a blast to watch

Season 2, amazingly subtitled COBRA: Cyberwar, will follow a different international crisis, which kicks off just as Sutherland is attempting to guide the U.K. back on a more even course. But an assassination on British soil unleashes a chain of events that threatens to develop into a crisis even more serious than the one from which the country has recently emerged. An apparently invisible global enemy, not playing by the rules and operating outside national boundaries, seems bent on destruction and nobody really knows who is a friend and who is a foe.

Several familiar faces are returning alongside Carlyle for the drama's second season, including Victoria Hamilton as Sutherland's loyal Chief-of-Staff Anna Marshall, along with Richard Dormer, David Haig, and Marsha Thomason. New faces include Richard Pepple as the latest Home Secretary, Joseph Obasi, and Andrew Buchan, as Labour Party leader Chris Edwards.

While there's no US version of this clip as yet, you can watch the U.K. trailer for COBRA's second season which pretty much feels as though it might be even more bonkers than its first.

Cyberwar initially aired in the U.K. in the Fall of 2021, but thanks to the general entertainment logjam caused by COVID-19 schedule changes and production delays, has yet to make it to American shores. It is slated to air on PBS later this year, though we don't yet have an official airdate just yet.

Both Seasons 1 and 2 of COBRA are now available on PBS Passport.
