Hiddleston stars opposite Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska and Charlie Hunnam in this supernatural period drama that features ghosts, family secrets, dark passions, and general craziness.
Or basically, this is what happens when you take your standard haunted house movie, but have it be dreamed up by the guy who created Pan’s Labyrinth. So it’s probably going to be extra terrifying, but at least will look incredibly beautiful while it scares the crap out of you.
Watch the trailer for yourselves below:
Fun fact? Hiddleston took over the part that was originally supposed to be played by Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch. So, everyone just take a second to be a little bit sad about that, no matter how great it looks like Hiddleston’s going to be in this movie. (For the record, I’m so looking forward to this, and Hiddleston in it, I just need, like, a moment to mourn. I’m sorry.)
Also, that sort of weird, haunting cover of Red Right Hand? that plays throughout the trailer? I would buy that on iTunes right now, so bonus points to anyone that can name the artist because it is awesome.
Crimson Peak is slated to hit theaters this October, just in time for Halloween.
Anybody else really excited for this? (I’m a total horror movie junkie, so the thought of del Torro making a movie like this? Welcome to my Christmas.)
