Preview the BBC’s New Spy Thriller “Hunted”

The BBC has released the first trailer for Hunted, a new contemporary spy thriller from the producers of MI-5 starring Grey’s Anatomy’s Melissa George.  The eight-part series features George as Sam Hunter, an elite operative for a private intelligence company who is trying to untangle the aftermath of an attempt on her life. Of course, the catch is that it might be her own team that’s trying to kill her, and she returns to her firm not knowing who she can trust. Dun dun dun!

George, already a veteran of spy dramas thanks to her turn on ABC’s Alias, seems much more interesting and likeable in this brief clip than she did during most of her run as Sydney’s nemesis Lauren. (Sidebar: I actually like George a lot as an actress, but I will never forgive that Alias subplot.)

The BBC is dropping a lot of trailers for new Fall programming lately thanks to the Olympics – it feels like Christmas for a UK TV fan. I think this one actually looks rather excellent and hope it manages to air here in the States!

Lacy's love of British TV is embarrassingly extensive, but primarily centers around evangelizing all things Doctor Who, and watching as many period dramas as possible.

Digital media type by day, she also has a fairly useless degree in British medieval literature, and dearly loves to talk about dream poetry, liminality, and the medieval religious vision. (Sadly, that opportunity presents itself very infrequently.) York apologist, Ninth Doctor enthusiast, and unabashed Ravenclaw. Say hi on Threads or Blue Sky at @LacyMB.
